Barbashev has been discussed for weeks already. So have guys like Bjugstad, Lafferty, Acciari, Bertuzzi. These are the depth forwards that will be moved. But day after day it's just the same stories about Kane, Meier, Chychrun, Karlsson...

Very curious to see if Ottawa has been called about DeBrincat? Should bring in return for a rental? Does he even want to stay?

Well…I guess if another team is being used for double retention that would suggest that more than one team is acquiring. I think we should all cut Eck some slack here.

Guess your sources didn't tell you that the Blues said that they have no interest in re-signing Barbashev and that's why he's being traded.

Clearly Ek's sources are more reliable than the STL management.

Ottawa already publicly stated DeBrincat isn't being traded. Unless they lose 6 or 7 in a row I think Ottawa gives this roster a chance to chase a wildcard spot. But I have no sources...

Friedman reported on his podcast that his understanding was that DeBrincat was undecided about whether he wanted to return. He'll be owed a $9,000,000 QO in the summer unless he signs something longer term so it wouldn't be the easiest trade to make if they decide to try to move him.

I suspect many people will be surprised at the return Lafferty will get. I would not be disappointed if he ended up in Denver.

Barbashev would be a really nice add for the Leafs. They need more players that play with a physical edge, that can also chip in some goals.

I suspect most casual fans don't even know who Lafferty is. Ek doesn't even have him on his rumour chart? But Khudobin is on there. Lots of teams looking at him right now.

After the Avs put 3 past Fleury on their first 9 shots last night I wonder if their interest is waning? Maybe that brought the price down? He can't call it a career without wearing an Avs ball cap while working the door during a playoff run.

You can be sure Dubnyk would be on there if he hadn’t retired.

I think Lafferty and Khudobin will garner substantial interest.

Apparently, you don’t subscribe to Hockeybuzz’ 102 Thoughts. They’re trying to include his dad Jeff Chychrun in a blockbuster. More to come…

Tom Fitzgerald has said on multiple occasions that the Devils aren't looking for a rental, they're looking for a team-friendly deal. They're not going to bring in a guy that's a UFA this summer.

If New Jersey gets Meier, they can form an all Swiss line of Meier-Hischier-Siegenthaler. - Ek

Poor Mike and Russ then explain that Siegenthaler is a defenseman.

Marty Walsh being appointed to the NHLPA is the worst thing to ever happen to the NHL. If the players don't walk out, they will ultimately be responsible for the demise of the league. I am sick to my stomach.

What makes Walsh that much worse? NHL has long sold out to globalists. Not sure what Walsh could make worse.
